Sound boundary

In plain words: Riffmaw: sound-effects boundary

Designed 1 min read 2 glossary terms 3 connected pages
The short version written for the Snayu team

Explains that sound belongs to whichever app judges its intended role: musical textures and effects to Riffmaw, picture-bound effects to Broadcast, game sound to Foundry.

Why read it: Read when deciding where a sound effect or texture feature should live.
  1. 1Riffmaw accepts sound used inside composition, arrangement or mix.
  2. 2Shared codecs, plug-ins or generators do not transfer ownership.
  3. 3No app currently owns standalone reusable sound packs; Riffmaw publishes none.

The same noise can be a musical texture in one work and room tone under a film scene in another. The intended role determines who judges it.

Riffmaw accepts instrument/vocal processing, designed timbres, samples, transitions, textures, and effects inside composition, arrangement, or mix. Sources, tools, transforms, rights, parameters, and digests stay attached. A technically clean waveform can still fail the musical purpose.

Broadcast owns picture-bound effects, foley, room tone, environmental beds, and ambience judged against exact picture, timebase, event, place, material, distance, perspective, and continuity. Other application sound stays with its consuming CompositionApp. A common codec, plug-in, generator, or DAW does not transfer that judgment.

A reusable standalone sound pack needs a judgment beyond one musical or picture-bound use. No accepted Portfolio owner currently supplies it. A future CompositionApp must prove its independent records, acceptance, recovery, and consumers. Until then, Riffmaw publishes no standalone sound-pack PatternWorkflow, and unexplained library material or provider-returned sound must remain attributed candidates.
