Sources
In plain words: Riffmaw: reference material
How Riffmaw admits specific audio files as references and marks an exact musical moment (for example a drop at 01:32) without turning the whole media library into influence.
- 1Only named files enter, with limits on size, duration and recursion; no ambient home folder.
- 2A chosen moment is recorded with source, timebase, region, uncertainty and rights.
- 3Similarity can locate a clue but cannot prove authorship or safe reuse.

The idea arrives as a timestamp and a sound made with the mouth:
“At
01:32it drops: tz, tz, u-do. Keep the pressure and spacing, change the musical matter.”
Sources helps find that moment without turning the whole media library into admitted influence.
Admit, index, mark
riffmaw.index_sources@2 accepts named files, recordings, or attributable artifacts, bounding recursion, symlinks, bytes, duration, decoding, metadata, and retention before indexing. Neither an ambient home directory nor a searchable provider catalogue enters by default.
Once a source is admitted, use riffmaw.mark_moment@2 to locate the idea. A timestamp, beat range, tapped rhythm, phrase, or other bounded clue ranks spans under a pinned feature set, and the MagusYou, the Operator selects the useful one. Record that choice in ReferenceMoment@1 with its source, digest, timebase, exact region, observations, uncertainty, attribution, rights, and admission decision.
Similarity can locate a clue; it cannot prove authorship or safe reuse. Translate a style request into reviewable pocket, density, accents, space, motion, instrumental relation, and energy. A lifted melody, disputed source, missing permission, or hidden influence leads to quarantine, replacement, or refusal.
Music receives the exact reference without permission to copy, generate, spend, arm capture, clone a performer, or publish. Ordinary dialogue and picture sound retain their owners despite sharing an audio format.
