In plain words: Broadcast: sources and claims

The short version written for the Snayu team

How Broadcast freezes evidence as snapshots and builds a claim ledger linking each factual claim to supporting spans, confidence and dependent content.

Why read it: Read when building fact-checking, citation or correction tracking.
  1. 1A URL locates a source; a named snapshot freezes it.
  2. 2Each claim records its supporting spans, kind of reasoning, confidence and contradictions.
  3. 3Corrections mark dependent work stale without rewriting the earlier claim.

One sentence in the eventual script may depend on a quotation, a calculation, and a disputed observation. Sources keeps each support visible before voice and imagery make the sentence persuasive.

Freeze the evidence

A live URL helps locate a source. Freeze the evidence as a named snapshot before a claim depends on it, keeping three things together:

  • What was read: source identity, revision/digest, relevant span, and known author or publisher. Another reader must be able to find the material that supported the claim.
  • How it may be used: classification, rights posture, audience, purpose, disclosures, and retention. Custody of a snapshot does not settle every future use.
  • What this work asks of it: an editorial brief fixing the question, audience, target, scope, tone, exclusions, review standard, and freshness.

A changed question or changed source creates a forward revision. Keep each script tied to the revision it relied on under the declared retention policy.

Build the claim ledger

For each factual claim, identify the spans that support it and whether the work is quotation, extraction, calculation, synthesis, or interpretation. Keep confidence, assumptions, contradictory evidence, and reviewer state alongside that binding. Also record every dependent article, script, caption, or timeline object, so a finding can reach all work that relied on the claim.

A stale or disputed claim can be narrowed, attributed, removed, returned for research, or refused. Fluent wording cannot raise its evidence grade. A correction appends corrected/withdrawn state and stales dependants without rewriting what the earlier claim said.

Check rights, privacy, likeness, and PortalCloud Model egress when evidence enters and again whenever its intended use changes. Once those checks are satisfied, the evidence and claim revisions can enter Script. Voice synthesis, another owner's asset revision, rendering, and publication still require their own authority.
