Direction
In plain words: Atelier: visual style rules
How Atelier turns your taste into a reviewable style guide covering palette, composition, light, camera and exclusions, and uses it to judge and correct candidates.
- 1The style guide separates intent, observations about references, your decisions, and concrete tests.
- 2It must not instruct copying protected work or imitating a named living artist.
- 3A failed candidate is traced to a rule, then either the rule or its execution is corrected.

A palette alone will not tell an illustrator where an exception belongs. Direction makes the MagusYou, the Operator's taste usable across several assets: what the work should feel like, which visual rules support that intention, and how a candidate will be judged.
A reviewable visual system
atelier.establish_style_bible@1 records the chosen composition, shape, proportion, palette, material, light, camera, typography, motion, and exclusions where they apply. Observations about references can inform these choices. They do not instruct the maker to copy protected expression or imitate a named living artist.
Make the reasoning visible in four layers. Begin with the intent and the response it seeks. Keep attributable observations about references separate from the MagusYou, the Operator's decisions, including controlled exceptions. Then state concrete tests that will show whether a candidate follows those decisions.
Provider prompts, seeds, controls, and exploratory images can help discover this visual system. The accepted direction remains their governing reference, and each accepted asset records the exact direction revision used in its review.
Review and correction
When a candidate fails, identify the relevant rule and decide whether the rule or its execution needs repair. atelier.revise_from_correction@1 admits a bounded forward correction to that layer. Conflicting rules, an impossible target, or exhausted correction return exact non-completion.
A display can also change the judgment. atelier.presenter_calibration@1 may compare how a viewer or presentation changes perception. Use that evidence to inform a direction revision; it cannot edit an accepted asset or certify every display.
The resulting visual language guides Assets and Motion. Acting on it still requires separate admission for generation, spending, egress, publication, or a changed brief.
